📌 Read the words aloud. Pay attention to the ending -ed.
🌿 The rule
- /t/ — after a voiceless sound: worked /wɜːrkt/, watched /wɒtʃt/
- /ɪd/ — after /t/ or /d/: wanted /ˈwɒntɪd/, needed /ˈniːdɪd/
- /d/ — after the other sounds: played /pleɪd/, lived /lɪvd/
